One injured in accident

A teenager was injured in a single-vehicle crash that occured at 5:23 a.m.  Dec. 5 four miles southest of Hill City on Hwy. 16A at mile marker 37.
A 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 19-year-old male was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 16 when it lost control, hit a guardrail and ultimately came to rest in the roadway.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt and as a result had only minor injuries. However, the passenger a 17-year-old who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. They were transported to Monument Health Hospital Rapid City.
The incident is under investigation, and charges are pending against the driver.
