This groundbreaking interactive news initiative by the Prevailer allowed readers to use their smartphones to access a deeper level of content. After downloading a free app, readers could simply hold their Android or iPhone device over photos, blocks of text or advertisements to launch the interactive experience.

Jail reform effort gives inmates skills and county budgets a break

A new education program for jail inmates in Pennington County aims to break the cycle of repeated incarceration among people who are addicted, have mental health challenges or lack the skills to function in society.
Pennington County Sheriff Brian Mueller recently announced the coming launch of the IGNITE program, which will make South Dakota the latest state to implement the effort.

— James and Michele Pridgeon of Bearlodge Studios received first place for the People’s Choice at the annual Sculpture in the Hills Show. James said  Sculpture in the Hills is by far the best show he goes to. He also mentioned that a lot of the locals are really supportive of artists and veterans. Winning the People’s Choice award was a phenomenal honor for James, and as he looked at the ribbon, he said he was so stoked that he couldn’t even talk. “To say that 300-plus people came in and said your work is superb means so much to us,” he said.
